该剧改编自谈天音的小说《昆山玉之前传》。合浦采珠奴端午（赵露思 饰）历经万难逃出吃人的珠场，邂逅了西域商人燕子京（刘宇宁 饰）和谦谦君子张晋然（唐晓天 饰）。她加入燕氏商队，一路摸爬滚打，璀璨的珠宝世界仿佛近在咫尺。然而西北之行，她却发现了自己的身世之密，更卷入了燕子京的 复仇谜局，至亲皆死，至爱背离。端午改名苏幕遮勇闯扬州，宁可万劫不复也要追寻真相。然她终心如明镜，不被仇恨裹挟，一手缔造明镜台，联合张晋然昭雪旧案。原打算独自背负污名和仇恨的燕子京最终亦缓解心结，与她共对疾风骤雨。尘埃落定，苏幕遮在赛宝会上勇攀珠宝艺术高峰，众多原本屈从于命运的女子也因她而焕然新生。
The play is adapted from Tan Tianyin’s novel “”The Legend of Kunshan Jade””. Duanwu (played by Zhao Lusi), a pearl-collecting slave in Hepu, escaped from the cannibalistic pearl field after going through many difficulties, and met Yan Zijing (played by Liu Yuning), a businessman from the Western Regions, and Zhang Jinran (played by Tang Xiaotian), a modest gentleman. She joined the Yan’s caravan and worked hard all the way. The dazzling world of jewelry seemed to be within reach. However, during her trip to the northwest, she discovered the secret of her life experience and was involved in Yan Zijing’s revenge mystery. Her loved ones died and her beloved left her. Duanwu changed her name to Su Muzhe and bravely went to Yangzhou. She would rather never recover but pursue the truth. However, she finally had a clear mind and was not swayed by hatred. She created the Mingjingtai and joined Zhang Jinran to clear the old case. Yan Zijing, who originally planned to bear the stigma and hatred alone, finally relieved his knot and faced the storm with her.
